Lumier's Chimney Cake Brings Georgia's First Kurtoskalacs Shop to Peachtree Corners
Lumier's Chimney Cake, in a Peachtree Parkway strip center, is the only shop in Georgia built entirely around the Hungarian chimney cake. Atlanta Magazine wrote it up this month, and it's already sitting at a 5.0 rating across 560 Google reviews.

Lumier's Chimney Cake opened at 6135 Peachtree Pkwy NW, Suite 605, inside the Peachtree Corners Marketplace strip center off GA-141, and it's the first Georgia location for a small, family-owned chain that otherwise runs shops in Georgetown and at The Wharf in Washington, D.C. Atlanta Magazine covered it this month, calling it Georgia's first shop built entirely around the kurtoskalacs, or chimney cake. The brand isn't stopping at one location: it has Metro Atlanta spots planned for Alpharetta, near Avalon, and for Suwanee, with a Midtown Atlanta location reportedly in talks. For a corridor that already gets described as one long retail strip along Peachtree Parkway, a concept expanding to three more Georgia locations within the year is worth knowing before the next one lands closer to a listing you're working.
A chimney cake is a centuries-old Hungarian street pastry. Yeasted dough gets wrapped in a spiral around a rotating cylinder, baked until the outside caramelizes into a crackly cinnamon-sugar shell, then slid off in a hollow cone. Lumier's own menu lists the plain, ice-cream-cone-style version at around $9. Most people walking out the door are carrying the version that shows up all over Instagram instead: the cone stood up in a branded paper cup, packed with soft serve, a biscuit stick, a wafer roll and a caramel drizzle.
This is a strip-center counter, not a sit-down restaurant. Parking is the shared lot for the rest of the Peachtree Corners Marketplace row, the same stretch that has an IHOP, a Panera and an LA Fitness, and the order is counter service with a handful of tables rather than a hostess stand. That's worth telling a client before they drive over expecting to be seated.
My own read: this is a kids'-treat and after-dinner-stop business, not a date-night spot, and it's the kind of place that earns its keep on family foot traffic in that part of Peachtree Corners. A brand-new-to-Georgia shop sitting at a perfect 5.0 across 560 Google reviews is a fast, loud signal that the neighborhood has already found it, and that kind of number doesn't happen without repeat weeknight traffic from people who live within a few minutes of it. For a buyer with young kids looking anywhere near Peachtree Parkway, that is the sort of local color a listing sheet never gives them, and it's a better read on how a block is actually used day to day than any demographic report.
Go on a weeknight rather than a Friday or Saturday evening if a 5.0-with-560-reviews shop sounds like it draws a line, since hours run Sunday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. Order the classic chimney cake with soft serve on a first visit before working up to one of the fully loaded specialty cups.
